Fortune Cookie Soap is a company with a very cute and original idea, Fortune Cookie soaps of course. They are soaps in the shape of fortune cookies and even have fortunes inside of them! These soaps come in at least 60 different scents! This was the first order I placed with the company, here’s what I bought and my thoughts on everything.

The Not So Little Mermaid is a pretty, glittery blue soap. It’s kind of transparent and reminds me of the ocean. The scent is complex. It’s “top notes are Mandarin Balm, Tangelo, Eucalyptus while the middle notes are Jungle Moss, Patchouli Leaf, and Sandal Tree and lastly the base notes are Red Wood Forest, Amber Glow, and Musk.” To me it kind of smells like a clean perfume. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it. It’s a little too strong for me. The Not So Little Mermaid costs $2.99.

I had to get this soap because of the name. When I told my son there was a soap called Unicorn Farts, he laughed and said he wanted it. This soap is also transparent, glittery, and $2.99. On the website it looks purple, but it’s light pink. The website has a silly description for this one, but it smells grapefruit-y. At first I didn’t know if I liked it, but after smelling it again I do.

The above soaps just came in bags, however if you want to pay a little extra you can get your Fortune Cookie Soaps in cute take-out boxes! I ordered soaps in one of every box offered.

The Candy Addict is a really pretty soap. It’s an opaque pink that has a sheen to it. This soap is not glittery. I decided to get this one in the white box which costs 30 cents extra, the soap itself costs $2.75. That is a great price! The Candy Addict is supposed to be a “pink melon and sugar scent,” but falls flat. I was disappointed by this scent, especially since the soap is so pretty. It’s not strong and I don’t think it smells like candy or sugar.

Violet Raspberry is also a really pretty Fortune Cookie Soap. It’s purple with pink drizzle on it. This would make a really pretty, yet affordable gift for any woman in your life. As the name suggests, the scent is a mix of flowers and berries. To me it just has a nice, light, feminine scent to it. I ordered this one with the black box for 30 cents extra, but Violet Raspberry only costs $2.99.

How amazing does this one look?! It looks just like a Chocolate Covered Strawberry! The red part smells like Strawberries and even appears to have strawberry seeds in it. The brown part smells like chocolate and it’s all topped off with a white icing drizzle. This is one of Fortune Cookie Soap’s best sellers and costs $3.29. It looks so great with the red box which was also 30 cents more. This is another one that would make a great gift or if you just love Chocolate Covered Strawberries you’ll want this.

Vivid is my favorite out of all the soaps I ordered. It’s a gorgeous hot pink with a little glitter and smells SOOOOO good! Yes, it smells too good to just type “so.” This one is also a best seller, so I’m not just making it up. It doesn’t look very pretty in my picture, because I made the mistake of not taking a picture until AFTER it got used about 10 times. It just finally started to break, but I can still use it. So, for only $2.75, that’s not bad at all. If you can only order one soap from Fortune Cookie Soap, order Vivid. It smells like the most amazing Hawaiian Punch ever. This soap makes my mouth water. I ordered this one in the Metallic Pink box for an extra 70 cents. The box is so pretty, I love it.

Kryptonite Glow glows in the dark!! I don’t think I really need to say any more, but I will. My son loves this soap, because it really does glow! It smells like Sour Apple. This scent also makes my mouth water because it reminds me of a sour apple candy. At only $2.75 this is perfect for kids (and big kids too.) This one has also been used quite a few times, which is why it looks a little funny in my picture. I ordered Kryptonite in a clear box for 70 cents more because I know glow in the dark products need light in order to glow when it’s dark.

All the bags and boxes come labeled with the company name, scent, and ingredients. They even say “not intended for Human consumption” since some of the soaps look and smell good enough to eat.

For practical reasons, I really recommend getting the clear box, even though the other ones may look nicer. The colored boxes are just paper so they get wet and soggy when you put the soap back in them after a bath or shower. The clear box is plastic so you can store the soap in it even when wet! Plus, you can easily see which soap is in which box because they’re clear.

My Overall Thoughts:

The fortune cookie soaps are a reasonable price and even though they are hollow you surprisingly can get a lot of uses out of one. Fortune Cookie Soap even sells a Exfoliating Soap Saver for $3.99. When your soaps break you can put them in the soap saver and keep on using them. The soap saver can be thrown in your washer and reused. Even if a soap isn’t broken, you can put it in the soap saver to get a better lather. Which brings me to my con.

These fortune cookie soaps don’t have the best lather. They do lather, but it takes awhile. You can also tell they have glycerin in them, if you’ve used soaps with nicer ingredients. So, they’re not the best soaps, but they’re fairly cheap, smell pretty good, and make cute gifts. Will I order again? Yes, I’d like to try a couple more scents and get the soap saver. Fortune Cookie Soap also has a variety of other products other than their namesake.
