Laura Geller Spackle Primers

Laura Geller Spackle

I was first introduced to Laura Geller cosmetics in 2011 thanks to Birchbox, but you may have heard about this brand on QVC or seen it in Ulta. If you've been wondering about Spackle, wonder no more. Here's my review and swatches of 4 different formulas of this primer.

I was first introduced to Laura Geller cosmetics by Birchbox in 2011 when I received a full sized blush/bronzer that I fell in love with. Then, another Birchbox contained a Laura Geller Spackle primer. I fell in love with this sample too and bought the full-sized product. Since then I have managed to purchase every color of Spackle, except the original. So, I figured it was time to do a review!

The original Spackle which I don’t have, looks white and goes on clear with no shimmer.

Spackle primers

As you can see, these have two different types of packaging. The long tube one was a hard plastic. It was the first one I purchased and since then my Ulta only has Spackle in the softer plastic that you can squeeze the primer out of. So, I’m assuming this is the newest packing. Either way they are 2 oz.

Some of my Spackle primers were getting low so I took photos, used them up and threw them away. I then purchased a newer formula, so that gets a separate photo.

Neutralizer

I LOVE these primers! I like them better than primers from Benefit and Smashbox that have rave reviews. Spackle is a lightweight gel, so you don’t even feel it. These primers help makeup go on smoothly for a more flawless look. As well as helping makeup to last longer. Most of the Spackle formulas are made with natural plant extracts and the powerful anti-oxidants. They’re moisturizing, but are oil-free.

Here are swatches of the different Spackle formulas so you can get an idea of which would work best for you. Keep in mind that once you blend the primer across your face the color isn’t so concentrated. You essentially just have the shimmer/tint.

Spackle-Bronze

Spackle in Bronze shimmers with a sheer bronze tint. The bronze tint soothes redness, gives a soft glow, and evens out your skin tone. Especially great for a summer glow! This is one of my two favorite Spackle formulas.

Spackle-Ethereal

The Ethereal formula is infused with crushed pearl, licorice root, and nourishing botanicals to help give your complexion a bright, opulent glow. This is my least favorite of the Spackle formulas, because I feel like the pink shimmer doesn’t help to hide redness on my face.

Spackle-Champagne

Spackle in Champagne shimmers with a champagne glow. Champagne and Bronze are definitely my favorites. I also think they are the best formulas for someone who wears very little makeup. Champagne gives such a fresh-faced amazing glow.

Spackle-Neutralizer

Neutralizer is the newest Spackle formula that I purchased. I’m assuming it is the most similar to the original formula in that it doesn’t have a shimmery finish. Spackle Neutralizer has subtle peach undertones to neutralize skin imperfections: uneven complexion, dullness, veins and freckles.

Overall Thoughts: As I’ve already stated, Bronze and Champagne are my two favorites. However, everyone has different skin types and benefits they are looking for in a primer. The best Spackle for you, might not be the same for me. Spackle runs for $27 or $30 for Neutralizer. I typically purchase mine at Ulta, but you can also order directly from Laura Geller or QVC.
