UPDATE March 2015: I no longer support this company and can no longer recommend their products to anyone. I will simply say they had a poorly handled data breach that has left some customers is financial ruin.
Ever since I’ve started this blog, almost 2 years ago, I wanted to buy Lime Crime opaque lipsticks. I could never bring myself to spend $16 each though. Well I finally decided that I should treat myself! I work full-time and was getting a decent tax return, so why not?!
It was a decision that I don’t regret!
There’s nothing wrong with regular packaging, but I appreciate when a company has their own unique boxes that arrive in my mailbox.
Everything is purple with unicorns, I love it!
I decided on 2 pink shades and a red. The Lime Crime website has a nice chart that shows which colors will work best with your skin tone which I really liked.
Geradium is a new color. This lipstick being released is what made me decide to finally place an order. It’s a “coral-pink that is so intense, it might just be radioactive.” I really like this color, I think it can work with a lot of different eye looks and outfits. Compared to most of the Lime Crime colors, Geradium can be worn as an everyday lipstick (a bright everyday lipstick.)
Countessa Fluorescent is a “cool-based neon pink.” I really like this color, but it is bright. When I first put it on, I was a little shocked at how bright. Shocked in a good way, it’s really pretty.
Retrofuturist was a last minute decision. I really wanted the pinks, but decided red lipstick would look good with my red hair. Plus, red lips is such a glamorous, classic look. Well, this has turned out to be my absolute favorite. It’s a “bright, true red.” Retrofuturist is the red of all reds. I love it!

These swatches were just one quick swipe and are very true to how the colors look in person. They’re opaque and bright.
I’ve always been more of a lipgloss girl, but Lime Crime makes me a lipstick girl. This lipstick goes on so smooth and silky. The colors are bold and last all day. I ate and drank with these lipsticks on and they were still noticeable at the end of the day. I even had co-workers comment on how pretty they were and how they lasted all day. Of course, some wears off, but I’m pretty sure 2 applications would last you a full 24 hours no matter what you were doing. I even wore Countessa Fluorescent in the shower to test it, my lips were still super bright afterwards.
My only tip for Lime Crime lipstick is to use some type of lip scrub or exfoliate prior to applying them. Also, be careful because even though they are long-lasting they will transfer. If I touch my lips, my hand ends up with pink or red on it. So, be careful kissing your kids or significant other for awhile after applying. They might not appreciate the lipstick on their faces.
Unfortunately, these lipsticks sell out. I’d check back with Lime Crime often for when all colors are restocked.
What’s your favorite Lime Crime lippie?
