If you buy beauty products at CVS, Walgreens, or Ulta, then you’ve probably seen Montagne Jeunesse masks before. They cost about $1.99 and are a packet that contains enough product to do one facial mask.

I recently found out that they have sheet masks. Instead of a creamy product that you evenly apply all over your face, it is a fabric sheet that you unfold and set onto your face. I had never used one before and was excited to try it.

The one I purchased is called a Dead Sea Anti-Stress Spa Facial Face Tonic. I believe Montagne Jeunesse also sells two or three other types of fabric tonic masks.

The purpose of the Dead Sea Face Tonic as stated on the packaging…”real dead sea nutrients and minerals submerge tired, stressed out skin in moisture leaving it smooth and rehydrated, toned and visibly younger looking.”

When I took this out of the package I was surprised that mine was white with purple flowers instead of the blue ocean-looking one shown on the packaging. It also had a scent to it,but I’m not quite sure how to describe it. It wasn’t delicious smelling, but it definitely wasn’t bad.

I unfolded the mask over the bathroom sink, so it wouldn’t drip all over the floor. I followed the instructions and removed the mouth piece and placed it on my nose. I thought the mouth part would be a little easier to remove, it actually took effort to rip off.

Then, I simply placed it on my face, patted it down and tried to smooth it out. The mask was big on my face. I had at least an inch or two excess on my forehead that I folded down so it wouldn’t be in my hair. These fabric masks are kind of creepy looking, but they are less messy than your typical facial mask. Here’s what I looked like with mine on…

The mask felt weird when it was on. The best way I can describe it is, that it was so cold it burned a little bit. It wasn’t as “calming” as the packaging made it sound. It said to leave it on for 5-10 minutes. I probably had it on for 7 or 8 minutes. I liked that I could simply take it off and throw it away. I rinsed my face a little bit and was done.

The results??

I wasn’t sure that I was going to like the mask, but I was actually happy with the results. My skin felt very soft and refreshed. I normally have oily skin, but my nose was actually really dry before I used this. When I took the mask off my dry skin was completely gone! The dry skin didn’t return the next day either!

If you have dry skin I definitely recommend trying out this mask! Even if you don’t have dry skin, it is kind of fun to try out a funky facial mask like this.

I purchased mine at Walgreens along with another Montagne Jeunesse mask, 2 for $3. You should be able to find them at a local drugstore. If you can’t, they are available online at Ulta.com, Walgreens.com, and also from Neoteric Cosmetics.

What do you think of fabric masks? What is your favorite Montagne Jeunesse mask?

I tried one of these before, I think it was tea-tree, it was easy to use and fun and it felt really refreshing afterwards.
