A few months ago, the owner of Nikory Bath Treats had sent me a solid hair conditioner. It was the first one I had ever used and was impressed. Recently, I asked her if she could make more and she did. So, I figured it was definitely time to do a review and tell everyone how much I like this product.

PACKAGING:

The first time I received the solid conditioner it came in a tin container and was in the scent Mango Papaya.

I liked the scent, it was fruity. At first I liked the tin, but it ended up getting rusty. I don’t keep my soaps or solid conditioners in the shower and putting it back in the tin when wet, made it start to rust.

The second one came in a plastic container which I really like. Both the solid conditioners themselves looked the same. They are yellow in color. One side is flat and the other is round to fit in your cupped palm when using. This second one is in the scent Rock Star, a Lush dupe. I love this scent!

Nikory Bath Treats has cute labels which are waterproof. They are labeled with the company name, what the product is, the amount, the scent, instructions and, most importantly, ingredients! I like that everything you need or want to know can be found right on the label.

CONDITIONER:

The ingredients in this solid conditioner are:  Conditioning emulsifier, Cetyl Alcohol, organic cocoa butter, Babassu oil, meadowfoam oil, Wheat protein, Rice quat, Dl panthenol, , Silk, Cetrimium chloride, Fragrance and optiphen +. On Nikory’s website listing for this product it explains why each ingredient is beneficial for hair.

I really like this conditioner. It makes my hair very soft and moisturized. Between using my flat iron and dying my hair, it’s pretty fried. My hair feels much softer after using this conditioner than if I use a typical drug store liquid conditioner. The solid conditioner leaves the tub or shower slippery because of the oils, so be careful. The following photo shows my solid conditioner drying on a soap saver after a few uses.

Never used a solid conditioner before? It’s not hard. It’s shape is made to fit in your hand. You start at the top of your head and run it down the length of your hair. Do this all over your head. Then, simply use your fingers to work it into your hair as with any other hair conditioner. I leave it in my hair for a few minutes and then rinse it out.

I completely used my first solid conditioner and am onto my second one. It may not be a miracle worker, but my hair is smoother and I have fewer split ends now than before I used these conditioners. I definitely recommend this hair product.

I also have a solid conditioner from Skin-a-licious (aka Brooke’s Bar) and I prefer the Nikory one. The Skin-a-licious one is nice, it detangles and moisturizes, but Nikory’s leaves my hair feeling softer. I also like the price of this one better. The solid conditioner from Skin-a-licious is smaller and costs $8.99 plus $4.99 for a jar. The solid conditioner from Nikory Bath Treats costs $8 and the jar is included.

You can purchase this product and others at http://nikorybathtreats.com Nikory Bath Treats also makes great soaps and scrubs! Check out my first review of this company here.

(I received the first solid conditioner for free, but paid for the second.)
