Sinful Scents is a company based in Florida that makes and sells candles, soy shots, and bath and body products. The owner, Lindsay, was nice enough to send me 9 soy shots and 2 lip balms to try out and review.

Soy Shots

In case you don’t know…a soy shot is like a candle. However, it doesn’t have a wick, you put it in a burner or warmer and it will give off the scent. Soy shots are also called, tarts, scent shots, soy melts. The soy shots came in 2 different sizes 1 oz. and 2 oz. I believe on her website right now, you can only purchase 2 oz. ones, the 1 oz. size are probably a sample size. 1 oz. is perfect for my tart burners, the 2 oz. ones I cut in half and then burn. The following photo shows a size comparison.

The soy shots come in handy little plastic cups and easily pop out. There are stickers on the bottom with the cute logo, scent, website, etc.

I had no problem with the way the soy shots burned and they had decent throw. I wouldn’t say these would fill up your entire house with fragrance, but they’ll definitely make one or two rooms smell good. As with all candles and tarts, some scents are stronger than others. I burned 5 of the 9 scents I received. Pink Cupcake was probably the lightest scent while Sticky Sweet and You’ve Gone Bananas were a little stronger. The 2 oz. soy shots cost $2.25 each.

I also have to point out how adorable, the Pink Cupcake soy shot is. It comes with sprinkles on it!

Scents:

Here is a list of the scents I received and the scent descriptions for Sinful Scent’s website.

Holidays with My Hunk- “This one is fresh baked and right out of the oven. Makes your mouth water while it fills your home with the scent of fresh baked Pumpkin Bread. Catch the smell of pumpkin pie spice with just the right amount of baked crust.”

You’ve Gone Bananas- “A creamy, flavorful blend of ripe, mouthwatering banana and walnut and a sweet sugary vanilla base.”

Sticky Sweet- “Wild cherry balances with ripe peach and tangy strawberry for the candy sensation at the fragrance heart, Hints of cinnamon boost the cherry, as a smooth combination of vanilla and musk creates sugary undertones.”

Tropical Paradise- “Sweet creamy vanilla is decorated with fresh juicy strawberries and hot from the tropics freshly grated coconut. It’s a true delight for those tropic lovers!”

Pink Cupcake- “Vanilla cake, strawberry, vanilla and a warm dry down of musk.”

Prom Queen- “A nose-tingling blend of sparkling orange, lemon and lime. This refreshing blend of citrus with undertones of floral notes will present endless bursts of energy.”

Sultry- “Soda with a jolt, this classic lemon/lime fizzy pop is so good you will swear you can smell the caffeine and feel the bubbles tickle your nose.”

Purple Lust- “A blend of Plump Concord Grapes, Ripe Berries, and Sweet Juicy Grape.”

Hot For Teacher- “Sweet, ripened, McIntosh apples, pears, and white rose. Followed by freshly sliced mango, fresh greenery, tiger lily, and floral musks. If you like the smell of Gain’s Apple Mango Tango fabric softener, you’ll love this!”

I tried to list those somewhat in order of my preference. I don’t love Purple Lust and Hot for Teacher. Prom Queen and Sultry smell really good, but compared to all of them would be somewhere in the middle. The others would be my top 5.

Scents are kind of hard to review, because sometimes it just depends on your mood. None of the soy shots I received smelled bad though, which is a good thing! The owner had an idea of my scent preferences which are fruity, sweet, scents and she avoided sending me floral scents, which I’m usually not a fan of.

I think all the scents I received were very unique. To me, Pink Cupcake kind of smelled like Pink Sugar and Purple Lust smells like Purple Hooters, which other companies have, but none of the other scents reminded me of anything I had smelled before. I like when companies have unique scents because it’s boring if they all have the same ones. I like unique scent combinations that smell delicious!

Lip Candy

I also received 2 lip balms which Sinful Scents calls Lip Candy, what a cute name! They look like your typical lip balm, but they are amazing!

I have reviewed some lip balms before, and now I have to say none of the others were as good as these. Lip Candy from Sinful Scents is my new lip balm of choice! As you can probably tell from the above photo, I have been using the one on the right quite a bit. It goes with me every where, in my purse and as a result looks a little beat up.

I received the scents/flavors Pink Lemonade and Pumpkin Cheesecake, both smell delicious. Ingredients are listed right on the tubes.

The Lip Candy goes on smooth and leave lips moist. They’re not gritty or waxy.  They keep your lips looking  shiny and soft for quite a while, you don’t have to constantly reapply. It’s hard to compare and contrast lip balms in words, but when you use a good lip balm you know. I like these better than every other lip balm I have from indie companies. I highly recommend purchasing a Lip Candy, and they’re only $3.50.

Overall Thoughts:

I would recommend Sinful Scents. I love the Lip Candy!! The soy shots come in a wide variety of scents and the ones I’ve tried smell good and are unique scents. I believe customer service is extremely important and by communicating with the owner Lindsay, via Facebook and e-mail, she seems like a very nice and sweet person that cares about her customers.

She is so nice that she has given me a special code for my readers to use (once her Black Friday sale is over.)

***November 29, 2011 through December 4, 2011 you can use the code SJSCBOGO for Buy One, Get One Free on Soy Shots!*** That’s $2.25 for two 2 oz. soy shots! I will be making a purchase and I hope you do too.

You have two different ways to redeem this code. 1. Put the code, SJSCBOGO, in the “note to seller” and she will refund you as soon as she gets the order. (Ex. You can order 6 different scents, pay $13.50 and will then be refunded $6.75.) OR 2. You can place your order and in the “notes to seller” put the code and that you want to double the quantities. (Ex. you could order 3 scents and will receive 3 more of those same scents for free.) So, it depends if you want all different scents or duplicates.

Sinful Scents is great! Lindsay is super sweet & down to earth. I have tried a few of her lip candy, her soy lotion & a ton of her soy shots & love them all. The lip candy is the best out there, by far! Her soy lotion is just the perfect combination too. It is so smooth & creamy & comes in any scent you’d like! Thanks for reviewing & sharing! :)
