Another Skin-a-licious Review

Skin-a-licious

I was happy with my first order from Skin-a-licious so when they had a sale I decided to place a pretty big second order and try some new products and scents. This review discusses lotions, hair conditioner, and soaps.

I had to take advantage of the Skin-a-licious birthday sale a while back. I went a little overboard too, so here’s my thoughts on everything I bought.

PACKAGING:

Everything came in a typical priority mail box, but I loved that the website and marshmallow guy were stamped all over the box!

Inside the box was colored tissue paper. All the soaps were in bags, tied with ribbon. The lotions were taped shut. Everything was labeled and ingredients were listed. I didn’t have any problems with packaging. So, onto the good stuff!

PRODUCTS/PRICES/SCENTS:

I reviewed the Body Whipped Moisturizing Lotion in my first Skin-a-licious review, but I decided to order another one. They are $3.99. They are moisturizing and don’t leave a greasy residue. I got the scent Cranberry Orange Muffin. If you love bakery scents, then you would probably love this one. The scent is pretty powerful, but not overpowering.

I also decided to try another type of lotion. It’s called Buttercream Body Frosting. I believe this one costs $7.99. I got mine in the scent, Honey Delight. It’s a very light scent, it actually barely has a scent. If you want a scented lotion than I wouldn’t recommend Honey Delight. If you want a lotion that won’t compete with the scents of your soap or perfume, than you may like Honey Delight.

I like this lotion better than the other one. It has more benefits. Not only does it get rid of dry skin, you can use it as a shaving cream, it can prevent stretch marks in pregnant woman, it helps treat eczema, skin cracks, small skin wounds, skin allergies, heal sunburn, and relieve insect bites. It’s also thicker and fluffier than the regular body lotion. I definitely find myself using this lotion more than my Skin-a-licious body lotions. In the picture below, you can see the different between the two lotions. The Buttercream Body Frosting is on the left and the body lotion is on the right.

I’ve heard a lot of people rave about the Skin-a-licious hair conditioner bar. I decided I had to try it. I got mine in the scent Summer Romance and it smells nice. For $8.99 it was a little smaller than I expected, but I still haven’t used mine up. (I’ve had is for almost 2 months and have quite a bit left, but I haven’t used it every single day.) If you just purchase the solid conditioner, this is what it will look like.

For an extra $4.99, you have the option to get a jar for it. I decided to buy one, because I didn’t know how else I would store it. I don’t like to leave my soaps and things in the shower. I was very happy with the jar. It’s a nice thick plastic, so it won’t get rusty like a metal one would. It has a screw on lid and the conditioner bar fits in it perfectly.

This solid conditioner has one flat side and one rounded side, designed to fit into the palm of your hand when using it. I am happy with the Skin-a-licious conditioner bar. I don’t know if it’s my favorite solid conditioner, but it’s definitely better than a typical liquid conditioner. If you use drug store hair conditioner, this would be a major upgrade. It really leaves hair soft. I dye my hair and flat iron it pretty much everyday so for something to make it super soft is practically a miracle.

Of course, I couldn’t place a Skin-a-licious order without purchasing soap! Her soaps are so adorable and creative. They have great lather and after my showers I don’t feel like my skin is covered in residue. I have used the soaps I purchased, but I took the following photos before I used them so you could see how pretty they are.

Bumble Bee is a Lush Honey I Washed the Kids dupe. I love this scent and the soap is so cute and unique! This bar of soap was a little shorter than my other ones from Skin-a-licious. It costs $5.49.

Karmaville is another Lush dupe. The Karma fragrance oil is expensive so this soap costs $6.50. Also, because the fragrance oil is expensive for Helen to purchase this was the first and last time she will be making Karmaville. This soap is so fun and almost looks good enough to eat with little sprinkles on it!

I love fruity scents so I was excited to get Zing-a-licious. It’s a fruity, fizzy, citrus scent. When I first received this I was kind of disappointed, but then I let it cure more and now I do like the smell of it. This soap is also super unique, I’ve never seen anything like it before. It costs $5.99.

This last soap is my favorite. I really LOVE Blueberry Blast (which I got in a previous order), but True Blood Pam smells so good and is pink! This soap was inspired by the character Pam from the show True Blood. I don’t watch the show, but purchased this soap because it was pink and fruity. This bar of soap is also a little pricey at $6.50, but it’s amazing! It’s cherries, berries, and citrus, I get a fizzy, mouth-watering scent with this one too. There is also a True Blood Eric, which is a very masculine type scent.

With this purchase I received a free gift! How cute is this ice cream scoop soap?!? I can’t even use it, it’s too cute!

I definitely recommend buying the Buttercream Body Frosting and True Blood Pam soap although they may be a little pricey for some. The conditioner bar is also nice if you have dry hair.
