Chocolate Palettes

It's the final dupe of the week! Check out side by side comparisons between the much hyped about Too Faced Chocolate Bar and cheaper versions from a UK brand.

It’s the final post of Dupe Week and I’m excited to bring you details on a cheaper version of a very popular eyeshadow palette!
The Too Faced Chocolate Bar has been out for over a year and it seems like every single beauty vlogger on YouTube raves about it which is why I recently gave in and finally purchased it.
For $49 the Chocolate Bar gives you 16 eyeshadows that smell like chocolate. Yes, as soon as you open up this palette you get a whiff of a light and delicious scent. It contains a mix of matte and shimmer shadows. Overall the palette is neutral, but has some pops of subtle color like pale pink and plum. Too expensive for your taste?
This extremely similar I Heart Chocolate palette from UK brand Makeup Revolution costs only $11.67 USD. It too consists of 16 matte and shimmer eyeshadows. It even comes with a dual-end sponge applicator.
Seriously, look how similar these palettes are. Makeup Revolution just switched the placement of the one larger highlight shade.
To really compare, I did side by side swatches of all 16 shades. On the left is Too Faced Chocolate Bar and on the right is Makeup Revolution I Heart Chocolate palette.
Some Too Faced colors (left) are more pigmented, yet some Makeup Revolution (right) would be the winners in my opinion.
Overall the Too Faced eyeshadows are creamier and more blendable; some of the Makeup Revolution ones are on the dry side. The I Heart Chocolate Palette also doesn’t have the great scent like the original high-end product. With that said, I’d say these palettes are close enough that if cannot afford the Chocolate bar, you will still be able to achieve a similar look and be satisfied with the I Heart Chocolate palette.
Of course I couldn’t stop at just one chocolate palette…c’mon the dripping chocolate packaging is so cute! I also purchased the Naked Chocolate palette. It’s not a specific dupe of anything, but is still worth showing.
It contains 16 all neutral eyeshadows, another mixture of shimmer and matte shades. You can definitely use it to create natural day looks or smokey night looks.
Here are swatches of a few of the Naked Chocolate shades so you can get an idea of the pigmentation.
There is also a third palette called the Dark Chocolate that didn’t appeal to me, but may interest you. Check out all of Makeup Revolution’s goodies including their other Too Faced dupe, Blushing Hearts, by clicking here.
