Benefit Beauty Day Sampler Review

Benefit's Happy Beauty Day 3pc. set

I've had this free gift with purchase, sample pack from Benefit for a couple months. I finally got around to reviewing the three different products. You may want to check out this review before buying the pricey full sized items.

A couple months ago, I got a free 3-piece set of Benefit samples for making a purchase at Ulta. Benefit is one of my favorite cosmetics companies. I use their Boi-ing concealer every day,  but their prices are a little high so I usually can’t try too many of their different products. Therefore, I was excited to get this sample pack. It contained BadGal Lash mascara, Posietint, and the Porefessional.

BADgal Lash

The sample size is 4 g or 0.14 oz. The full size is 8.5 g or .3 oz. and sells for $19. (You can also buy this sample size for $9.)

I usually only use waterproof mascara, but this mascara is pretty nice. It definitely lengthens. The photo below shows BADgal on my lashes and I didn’t even use my eyelash curler.

Posietint

The sample size is .08 fl oz. The full size one is .42 fl oz. and costs $29.

This product is “poppy-pink tinted lip & cheek satin.” The color is really pretty. (Benefit also has cheek/lip tints in other colors.)

The following picture shows Posietint after I rubbed it in. You can see two pink spots on my hand. (Click image to view larger.) The color really soaked in and the color remained on my hand for the rest of the day. So, I’d say it’s pretty long-lasting.

This is a nice cheek tint, however I’ve tried it on my lips and found it to be very drying. I didn’t like this enough to spend almost $30 on it, but I might try another one of these sampler packs. I know Sephora has the Feelin’ Cheeky minis. It’s another 3-piece sample set that contains a sample of Posietint, Benetint, and High Beam.

The POREfessional

I saved the best for last. This sample is 0.25 fl oz. The full size item is .75 oz. for $29.

I really like this product. It helps minimize the appearance of pores. You put it on before you do your makeup. It is a nude/tan type color, but when you apply it it’s translucent.

This product works pretty well. It’s no miracle worker, but it does help minimize the appearance of pores. I use it on and around my nose and any other problem areas. It’s listed under primers, but I’m not sure that it really helps makeup last longer.

Overall, I’m happy with these products, especially since they were a free gift with purchase. I will definitely be purchasing some of the other Benefit sample sets available at Sephora. I saw another one that includes the POREfessional with two other produts that are different from the ones in this review, I plan on purchasing it when I use up the POREfessional sample that I have now.

Sample & value sets are a great way to try out products before spending a lot of money on the full sized ones. I love Benefit Cosmetics and highly recommend them, but I’m so glad they sell sample sets since they are kind of pricey.

You can purchase these products and more from Benefit Cosmetics, Sephora, or Ulta.
