February 2013 Birchbox

It is that time of month again….BIRCHBOX. January’s box certainly did not start off the year with a bang, but if Birchbox listens to their customers, they’ll improve each month (hopefully.)

February’s theme is “Red Carpet Ready.” I think this was definitely a good choice for February. Valentine’s Day would be expected, I think that they chose something a little more original. I watch enough E! to know that it’s red carpet season and I love watching red carpet shows more than the award shows.

Here’s what I got in February’s box:

Juicy Couture- Couture La La is a mix of mandarin, red currant, lily, and orange blossom. This fragrance is definitely WAY better than last month’s perfume sample.

Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox Beauty Balm- I’m actually really excited to try this. BB creams are becoming increasingly popular in the U.S. and I still have yet to try any.

Beauty Protector- Protect & Detangle- I’ll give this product a try. It’s supposed to work for all hair types to lock in color, add shine, and detangle. The packaging is pretty cool too.

Color Club Nail Polish in Wild Cactus- I have a holographic Color Club polish that I like so I’ll give this one a try. However, I’m typically set in stone when it comes to nail polish colors. I usually stick to pinks and purples. This one will definitely be venturing out of my comfort zone.

The extra this month was food, which I usually hate. However, this month I’ll allow it. Ghiradelli chocolate with caramel! I ate this right away and it was delicious.

Overall Thoughts: This month was definitely better than January. It’s rare that I actually end up using every item in a box, especially food items. I can honestly say I will try all of these samples though. Birchbox, you’ve at least got me for one more month, don’t screw it up.
