Holiday Fortune Cookie soaps and more

I placed my second FCS order on Black Friday. I purchased holiday soaps, a soap saver and more. Continue reading to find out what I thought of all the scents and if I will ever order from this company again.

On Black Friday, I decided to place my second order with Fortune Cookie Soap because they were offering 50% off fortune cookie soaps (without the boxes) and I wanted to try out some of the holiday scents/soaps. I was also one of the first 50 orders and got free shipping! Here is everything I bought…

Country Christmas is a pretty red and smells like sweet apple spice. It reminds me of apple cider or a holiday room spray, but I do actually like this scent.

Santa’s Cookies looks like an Oatmeal cookie, but I don’t think it smells like one. Cookies smell so good and this scent doesn’t make me hungry for cookies. I would not recommend this one.

Joy to the World is a pretty lavender color. It almost looks Easter-y to me. This one doesn’t have a strong scent, but it smells okay. It’s supposed to smell like warm butterscotch with notes of cinnamon and holly wreath.

Egg Noggin as you can probably guess, is supposed to smell like Egg Nog. It looks different in person compared to on the website, but they do state that it darkens because of the vanilla in it. It smells pretty good, like vanilla and cinnamon.

Candy Cane is a white soap with sparkly red drizzled stripes. On the website this looks really cute, but the stripes on mine are a disaster. This smells like mint and candy fragrances combined, but not like candy cane. This one doesn’t smell bad, but if you order it don’t expect it to smell just like a real candy cane.

I love pumpkin scents and was so excited to get Cram Your Face into My Sweet Pumpkin Pie. When I smelled it, I was completely disappointed. It just kind of smells like a fake pumpkin fragrance, not at all like a real pumpkin pie. If you want a real pumpkin pie scent, check out Simply Sweet Skin.

That’s all of the Holiday soaps I ordered, but I did order a couple others…

I ordered In the Loop for my 4-year-old son. He was so excited when he saw it. This smells like Fruit Loops and kids will love it. I personally don’t want to smell like Fruit Loops.

These 2 soaps are ones that I got in my first order and used up. In my opinion, they were really the only 2 worth re-ordering. Vivid is a sparkly pink soap that smells like Hawaiian Punch, it’s amazing. Kryptonite smells like sour apple and glows in the dark. This one is also for my son, he loved the first one I purchased. I also like the smell of it and it really does glow in the dark.

Fortune cookie soaps are kind of hard to handle (due to their odd shape and because they are slippery.) Also, they do break after so many uses, therefore, I decided to get the Soap Saver.

It’s a pouch that can hold a fortune cookie soap, bar of soap, or broken pieces of soap. It also kind of works as a loofah. This costs $3.99.

The last thing I ordered was their new OCD Hand Sanitizer in the scent Vivid. The hand sanitizer smells good, like my vivid soap. It is even pink and shimmery like the soap. It costs $2.89. It’s pretty small, but will easily fit in my purse. It’s not drying, but I can’t really be sure how well it sanitizes.

Will I order from FCS again?

I’m not really sure that I will. Honestly, both my orders have left me a little disappointed. I thought some of the scents would be better than they are. The scents are all just pretty good or okay. When I order bath & body stuff, I want amazing scents that I love! Had I paid full-price for all the soaps in this order, I would have been much more disappointed. My son loves Kryptonite and In the Loop, but the only one I really love is Vivid.

The soaps themselves aren’t the best either. It takes a while to get a decent lather (hopefully the soap saver will help with that.) You can also tell that they are glycerin-based soaps, I prefer companies that use better ingredients such as goat’s milk, shea butter, etc. These soaps and the little take-out boxes are cute. They are affordable, great for kids or to give as gifts. However, I have soaps from a lot of different indie companies, probably enough to last me years, and these aren’t my favorite. FCS has a lot of loyal customers and people rave about them, but I have to assume these people don’t know about companies like Skin-a-licious, Nikory Bath Treats, A Life Deliberate Soap Co., Grumpy Girl, etc.

If I do decide to place another FCS order it will probably be to try some of their other products such as scrubs, solid shampoos and conditioners, body butter, etc. To see all their products, check out their website, fortunecookiesoap.com
