I was going to cancel my Birchbox subscription now that I’m signed up for MyGlam, but I wanted to use my BB points and forgot to cancel. So, I got the January Box. Good news…I got a full-size item! Bad news… I got a food item and a perfume sample…AGAIN!
What I received in my January Birchbox…
The theme this month was “Clarity,” setting the tone for the rest of the year by bringing clarity to our beauty regimen.
1. Juicy Couture- Viva La Juicy sample
2. Origins- Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash
3. Stila- Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Peacock. Full-size $20!
I like the color of this eyeliner. It’s called Peacock, it’s a pretty blue. This eyeliner really is smudge proof! I tried to wipe it off with my finger and it didn’t budge! I had to really scrub this swatch off using soap and water.
4. VMV Hypoallergenics- Re-Everything: Face-Hand-Body Lotion
The last things I received were two extras. A fruit/nut bar and a Birchbox magnet.
There was also a second card about detoxes…
I’m happy with the eyeliner, but once again disappointed with the overall box. I’m glad the perfume sample was Viva La Juicy, but seriously I’m sick of perfume samples and food!! I think it’s finally time for me to cancel!

I signed up for Birchbox after seeing the full-sized lip glosses and bronzers. I’m allergic to eye makeup and can only wear Clinique (I’ve tried many others over the years and my eyes swell, itch water and the skin around them becomes scabby after a day or so, so I’m truly allergic.). There is no way to specify this when you sign up and the only two full-sized products I’ve received were mascara and eyeliner, so I gave them to my daughters. I’ve gotten strange items such as a tiny elastic piece of fabric tied into a loop that is supposed to hold hair, but didn’t. And food. I don’t mind one food item per box, but the tiny elastic rag?? I would cancel, but I signed up for a year. My youngest is just getting into makeup, so I’ll give it to her…

I like the purple color you got. I can’t believe they are still giving people those soaps though, I think I got one back in May haha Birchbox is fun, I think I’m just getting bored and might cancel. I can always subscribe again in the future if I miss it
I just signed up for Birchbox and I read so many annoyed reviews that it scares me, haha. I don’t think sending food so often is a really good idea and I’ll be annoyed if it keeps coming every month too!
The Stila liner was definitely the star of the box this month though! I got purple tang and like you said, it really was super waterproof! I like your blue even better than the purple!
