July 2014 Birchbox
I've been busy lately, but it was nice to take some time out of my hectic week to see what surprises were inside my Birchbox.
Wednesday July 16 2014
I’ve been so busy lately, but I managed to take time to enjoy my monthly beauty surprise.
Birchbox teamed up with Women’s Health magazine for the second time and instead of the usual pink outer box, this month’s was a pretty blue.
The bottom of July’s box is red and the top has little exercise gear graphics. Although I don’t work out, I think it’s cute. The theme is “Power Up” with “samples to energize your routine.”
As part of this theme, subscribers receive a small booklet of 12 challenges. They include parting your hair differently, eating veggies for breakfast, and taking a cold shower.
The first item I noticed in my box was Harvey Prince Hello Body Creme which has a yummy citrus-floral scent. I love it, but the full-size product is $22. :/
This Stem Cellular Repair Booster Serum from Juice Beauty is supposed to improve elasticity and enhance skin tone. I’m not sure the sample is large enough to actually see results, but if you’re willing to pay $75 to fight aging, you may want to check it this product.
I was happy to see this Ofra Universal Eyebrow Pencil because I can certainly improve my brow game. Plus, I believe this is the full-sized product!
The best sample in July’s box is this Ruffian Nail Lacquer in Ambrosia from The Rapture Collection. Birchbox finally sent me a color I like! It’s such a pretty metallic purple and I can’t wait to try it out once my acrylics are off.
The Extra this month is 100% Pure Gingerade Shower Gel. This all-natural product contains aloe to hydrate and green tea to nourish. These packets are pretty small but I’ll definitely use them.
The last item in July’s Birchbox is a special offer to get a one-year subscription to Women’s Health Magazine (valued at $9.99.) I failed to take advantage of this last year, but I’m going to this time in hopes of being motivated to be healthier. Plus, my boyfriend does collage art and can always use more magazines.
Between the full-size eyebrow pencil, Ruffian polish and the free magazine subscription, I’d say this box was worth $10. What did you think? Leave comments.
