UPDATE March 2015: I no longer support this company and can no longer recommend their products to anyone. I will simply say they had a poorly handled data breach that has left some customers is financial ruin.

I decided to wrap up this Lime Crime week with an eyeshadow palette review. This palette was my first purchase of their eyeshadows. I was thoroughly impressed with their lipsticks so I had to place a second order.

I was really torn while trying to decide which Fantasy Palette to purchase. I really liked the colors in both Aquataenia and Palette D’Antoinette. Since I’m on my current kick of loving everything mermaid and wanting to look like a mermaid, I decided to so with Aquataenia. The colors in this Lime Crime Fantasy Palette are “eminiscent of a mermaid’s tail under the moonlight — and makes your eyelids sparkle like the sea! ”

Lime Crime’s shipping is pretty fast. I got this sooner than expected. It came in a cute gold box.

The palette itself is consistent with Lime Crime’s other packaging- purple with a unicorn. It’s tin and lightweight.

The palette consists of 5 eyeshadows that are all pearlescent. Each color provides a shimmery/sparkly mermaid look.

The names of the colors are cute and go along with the mermaid/ocean theme.

Nautilus Prime & Coral of the Story

The eyeshadows even look like they’re imprinted with a mermaid scale pattern. I love little details like this!

No eyeshadow review would be complete without swatches…

I thought the eyeshadows would be a little bit brighter than they actually are. I did the above swatches using my fingers. When I applied these to my eyelids using a brush they were not as bold. They’re still gorgeous and much more pigmented than most pastel/shimmery eyeshadows. I really do like this palette and keep finding myself grabbing it when I’m getting ready. It’s great for creating colorful looks without them being too over the top. I typically don’t like any version of blue eyeshadows, but I actually like the blurple and teal colors in Aquataenia.

Lime Crime palettes cost $34.99. Other indie companies, like Sugarpill, also sell palettes for the same price. $7 per eyeshadow in this palette isn’t bad at all, it’s actually a very reasonable price. (Urban Decay’s eyeshadows are the best, but cost $18.)

If you’re looking for springy, shimmery, and pigmented eyeshadows, then I’d definitely recommend Lime Crime Aquataenia. I also love using my uniliner when creating looks with the colors in this palette. This is the perfect palette for spring!

Going to see the band Train in August and they have asked for fans to dress as mermaids for their Mermaids of Alcatraz Tour. Got the blue and green sequin shirt from The Limited now I need this makeup!
