I purchased the Sephora Instant Depuffing Roll-On Gel a few months ago. Every time I go on Sephora.com I get carried away and always want to buy enough to get free shipping, so one time I decided to try this product. My horrible dark circles and puffiness, are the main reason I always wear makeup. It’s amazing how awful your eyes can make you look.

The Sephora Depuffing Gel is $15. That may seem like a lot if you’re on a tight budget, but most gels or eye creams are quite pricey. I’m a firm believer of researching and reading reviews before purchasing products. This product currently has 141 reviews on Sephora’s website and it has 4 out of 5 stars.

The gel is in a tube. It has the simple Sephora Collection packaging and comes in a little box.

Instead of using your fingers to apply this gel, you roll it on. I do really like that. It has three metal beads. The description on Sephora’s website says “the roll-on applicator tip with three agitator beads stimulates drainage and microcirculation to leave eyes looking fresher and brighter.” I don’t know how accurate that is, but I personally like the beads because they always feel cool. If you keep this in a cool room, the metal beads feel great when applying the gel to your puffy eyes.

The beads are where the gel itself comes out. You don’t have to squeeze very hard. A little pressure and the product easily comes out. You don’t need a lot of this gel, or it will take forever to dry. The picture below demonstrates how the gel comes out, this isn’t the amount of product that I apply.

When applying this to your under eye area, just gently squeeze and roll on. Always be gentle when applying anything to your eye area or you may end up with a lot of wrinkles in the future. Just swipe the gel on, you don’t need to push, pull, or put pressure on the skin around your eyes. The gel goes on clear. You will be able to feel it, don’t put a ton of the gel on or it will just take longer to soak in.

After you have rolled on the gel, use your middle or ring finger and gently dab the under eye area. This just helps to work it in. Remember to gently dab, do not pull your skin. Then, you simply let it soak in and dry.

I definitely wouldn’t say this is a miracle worker, but I was actually surprised that it does work. I’m used to being disappointed by products like this, especially “instant” ones. However, when I use this I do notice that my eyes look a little less puffy. You apply this and your bags are slightly less noticeable, however they don’t disappear. According to Sephora, “in a 21-day test carried out under ophthalmological control, 28 volunteers reported a seven percent reduction in overall eye puffiness.” I’d say 7% is probably accurate.

For me this gel slightly de-puffs the inner part of my under eye area, not so much for the rest of the area. This product isn’t a must-have, but if you’re desperate to get rid of puffiness, you may want to try it. It has a lot of good reviews on the Sephora website. Personally, I find eye products rarely ever de-puff my eyes or get rid of my dark circles. I don’t use the Sephora Instant Depuffing Roll-On Gel everyday, but if I was crying or didn’t sleep well, I do use it before doing my makeup.

You can purchase this product at your local Sephora or online. You can also buy it as part of a three-piece set.

Have you ever tried this gel? Did it work for you?
