I have to say this review is way overdue. I purchased this product months ago, but I have a lot of Simply Sweet Skin products and have been trying to spread out the reviews. I really wanted to try one of SSS’s dry facial masks and decided to buy the Mango Yogurt one. She also sells dry facial masks in Lavender Chamomile, Strawberry Banana Cream, Milk & Honey, Sea Kelp, Pumpkin Power, and Rosehip.

Taken from Simply Sweet Skin’s Artfire. The benefits of the mask I purchased are as follows: “Mango – Rich in vitamins, carotenoids, polyphenols and antioxidants, helps to alleviate dry skin. Yogurt – High in lactic acid – known to “perk” up skin!”

Each dry facial mask comes as powder in a 2 oz. jar, which should last you quite a while. You only need 1 tablespoon for each mask. Although, you get to customize it so you can use more or less. I’ve had mine for months and still have a lot left.

What’s the point of a mask?

Well, they’re like an at home facial. A way to exfoliate, fight blemishes, and they can also be relaxing. Plus, they’re great for all skin types. As stated in this product’s listing on Artfire, a clay mask “Soaks up oils and toxins from the skin, tones and stimulates providing oxygen to skin cells, tightens pores, exfoliates, fights blemishes and blackheads, can be used as a spot-treatment directly on blemishes.”

I personally don’t use masks often, but you can. You can buy various types of facial masks from a drug store, but I really like that Simply Sweet Skin’s dry facial masks allow you to customize them. You choose how much powder to use, how much liquid to use, and which liquid to use. You can even put it in the fridge for a cool mask in the summer.

What should you mix it with?

Choose what will fit your skin type. For example, if you have dry skin make your mask with yogurt, milk, or honey. If you have normal skin try water, aloe juice, or honey. And for oily skin try water, witch hazel or honey.

I have combination skin and have tried my Mango Yogurt mask with water, milk, and Witch hazel. I like the witch hazel the best, it helps fight blemishes. I felt that water made the mask too watery without any added benefits. I don’t like milk (the smell or the taste) and didn’t like it in my mask.

How do you use a dry facial mask?

Included with your SSS dry facial mask order, will be a little scoop. Use the scoop that comes with the mask and put 1 tablespoon into a bowl. Add the liquid of your choice and mix it up to the desired consistency. After you mix it, apply it to your skin. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes or until dry and then rinse off with water. You can easily tell when it is dry. It gets dry, white, and may begin to crack.

My Overall Thoughts:

I really like my SSS Mango Yogurt mask because it is NOT like other masks. My face doesn’t not feel overly dry and stiff after I rinse it off. It helps my skin feel clean, soft, refreshed, and oil-free. Sometimes my skin feels out of control and like nothing is helping it, that is when I go to my Simply Sweet Skin dry facial mask.

The best part is that you can customize it. You get a mask that really is just for YOU and your skin. Plus, it’s kind of like a fun little science experiment, mixing it differently each time and trying different liquids.

The Mango Yogurt mask costs $8.50. The other ones vary in price from $8.25 to $8.75 and with how many masks you can get out of one jar of powder, they’re definitely a good deal. You can even get a sample pack of all 7 types of masks for $6.50.

Check out Simply Sweet Skin’s Artfire to purchase her masks and other amazing products!
