Simply Sweet Skin Review Pt. 1

Simply Sweet Skin

This is Part One of my review on the bath and body company Simply Sweet Skin. This company sells a variety of products which are handmade fresh by the owner, who is a nurse.

I was lucky enough to get to try various products from Simply Sweet Skin. This review will be on the four full-sized products I have. Part 2 of my review will be on three samples.

PACKAGING:

Simply Sweet Skin is yet another company with cute packaging! My package came in a box with purple tissue paper and a note from Catina, the owner, on cupcake paper!

All the individual products were nicely packaged too. As you can see in the photo below, everything was in tissue paper or bags. Four of the products were sealed with plastic as well. I like that a lot, it prevents everything from getting damaged if one thing  leaks (which nothing did) and it also just looks more professional.

Everything had cute labels with cherries on them. The labels all state the name of the product and the scent. All of the full-size products also had their ingredients listed on the labels.

PRODUCTS & PRICES:

I did receive all of these products for free, except for the duck soap. I paid for the duck soap with my own money. Everything else was sent to me by the amazing Catina. However, this review is honest. Catina even stressed that to me. She said she wanted an honest review even if it hurt. I really liked that she said that to me. I always state that I will write honest reviews whether I pay for a product or not, but company owners don’t always specifically tell reviewers that they want honest reviews, so go Cat! You’re awesome!

The product that was wrapped in red tissue paper was the Cool Mint Scrub. I got to choose this product. It looked amazing online and I love mint skin care products. This was sealed when I receive it and it even came with a little scoop taped to the lid. I’ve never seen anyone include something like that, I thought it was a nice touch!

The next picture shows the Cool Mint Salt Scrub after one use. This scrub is a pretty blue color and after one use there is still a lot of product left, this scrub will last me a while. It comes in a 4 oz. jar and sells for $9.25. You can see that some of the colors on the label ran after taking it into the shower with me. However, the label itself didn’t get weird or come off at all.

I tried to get a picture that shows the texture and consistency of this scrub. It’s what I expected a salt scrub to be.

I really like this product and would recommend it. I like scrubs and this one did not disappoint. It definitely exfoliates and made my skin feel soft. The mint is cooling and smells great, but I will talk about that more in the “SCENTS” section of this review. This scrub is perfect for the summer. On a hot day, you can use this and your skin will feel refreshed, tingly and you will be cooled off.

Simply Sweet Skin’s owner also let me choose a lip scrub in the flavor/scent Pink Lemonade. I was sick the week before I received it. I couldn’t breathe out of my nose and only breathing out of my mouth left my lips dried out. My lips didn’t just get dry, they looked dry. After being sick, I could see the yucky dry skin on my lips, how gross! So, thank god I received this lip scrub.

The Sweet Lips Sugar Scrub did the trick. I used this when I was in the shower and was so happy when I got out and looked in the mirror. This scrub took off all the dry skin and my lips felt smooth and nice again! This wasn’t harsh on my lips. It’s exfoliating, but still pretty gentle. If you like to wear lipstick and don’t want dry, rough lips, I would recommend this lip scrub from Simply Sweet Skin. Although, I personally wear lip gloss and still love this. It sells for $3.25, which is a very reasonable price.

The last full-sized item I received for free was a Lip Butter in Pink Lemonade, to go with my scrub! This also sells for $3.25. I have used mine multiple times a day, all week and it looks like I barely touched it. This is another product that will last me for awhile. It’s a nice, light lip butter. It’s NOT thick or sticky. Even after an hour and after some absorbs into my lips, I can still feel it. It even stays on through drinks. Thumbs up to a lip butter that has staying power without being thick!

The duck soap is an item I paid for. I think it’s about $6. I got it for my son. I got it with a Dino Duck in the scent Fruity Loops. My son was excited when I showed it to him. He thinks it’s “cool.” This soap lathers very nicely and leaves skin soft. You can get it with just a regular yellow duck, or I believe she has the dino ducks in green, blue, and pink. I think this soap looks the best with blue soap that looks like water, but for the scent I chose the soap is green. My son doesn’t care, he just likes the dino duck! The duck did come off the soap with a lot left, so I’ll just be using it like a bar of soap.

SCENTS:

The Cool Mint Salt Scrub smells minty, I love it! This will help clear out your sinuses. If you don’t like mint, then you won’t like this. If you like mint, then you need to buy this. It has Menthol crystals in it and reminds of the peppermint gums I usually chew.

The Pink Lemonade scent is exactly what I expected when choosing it. It smells like Pink Lemonade. I’m glad I have the lip scrub and lip butter in this scent.

The Duck Soap that I purchased in Fruity Loops isn’t what I expected. I had it at my parent’s house and had my family smell it. My mom, dad, and boyfriend said it DOES smell just like Fruit Loops. My brother said it smells like Fruit Loops, but with citrus. I’m not sure how to describe it, it kind of smells like cereal and almost like Fruit Loops, but not quite. When it’s wet, it seems to smell more like Fruit Loops. Scents are kind of hard to review because not everyone likes the same scents. This isn’t a scent I love, but you might.
