Simply Sweet Skin Whipped Body Frosting

This is a review on one of my favorite products from Simply Sweet Skin and one of my favorite lotions, although this is far from your typical lotion.

If you follow my blog, then by now you can probably tell that I really like the independent bath & body company, Simply Sweet Skin. I have previously reviewed some of her products and will continue to in the future.

This review is on one of my favorite products from Simply Sweet Skin. I love her scrubs, solid perfumes and soaps, but this product stands out to me. I had first tried a sample of this a couple months ago and liked it. You can check out that review here.

A lot of indie b&b companies have whipped body frosting and they are all really nice lotions. (The ones I’ve tried anyways.) However, the Whipped Body Frosting from Simply Sweet Skin is different from the rest. I’ll get to that in a minute.

SCENT

I purchased my Whipped Body Frosting in the scent “Rocker Chick” which is a dupe for Lush’s Rockstar. I’m obsessed with this scent and wanted to get a scent that I knew I would love. (I also wanted it so I could layer it with my Rockstar dupe soaps, sprays, and solid perfume.)

PRODUCT

This Whipped Body Frosting comes in a 4 oz. jar for $10.25. That may seem like a lot of money for something small, but it’s worth it! It will seriously last you so long. The following picture shows my body frosting which I have had for weeks and have used numerous times, barely any is missing! **UPDATE: Due to the price increase of supplies, this product will cost $14 for 4 oz. as of October 1, 2011. It will also cost $8 for 2 oz. and SSS will offer a new body souffle which contains water and costs less.**

Simply Sweet Skin’s Whipped Body Frosting is so thick! It’s not your typical lotion. It reminds me of actual thick and fluffy frosting for on a cake. It’s thick but is whipped and still fluffy, I love the texture and consistency of it. Just check out the picture below, does that look like your typical lotion?!

The amount that is on my finger in that photo is more than enough to apply to both of my arms and then some. This product contains no water. When you try to get it out of the jar, it’s almost hard to, but just scoop a little bit out and it melts onto you and soaks in. The product description for it on Artfire  is really accurate…”Because our body butter contains no water, a very little amount goes a very long ways. Apply a small amount and watch as it melts right into your skin like butter.”

I know some people are picky about their lotions, so this product my seem a little greasy to some people, but that’s definitely not how I would describe it. It’s thick, moisturizing and leaves your skin looking soft and radiant. I love it!

Below is a photo of me applying the Whipped Body Frosting on my arm.(I applied it thick so it would show up on camera, this is way more product than I would normally use.)

And the next photo is a minute later after it has soaked into my skin. It leaves a slight shine, but it’s not oily. My skin and the hair on my arm don’t look all greasy! (Click on any photo to view larger.)

Ingredients

Another great thing about this product is the ingredients and the fact that it’s handmade, fresh. You pick the scent you want and you don’t receive one that has been sitting around for months.  The ingredients are Shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, vitamin E, and fragrance oil. No water, no chemicals. Go look at the ingredients on a drugstore lotion. There are probably double the amount of ingredients and you probably can’t pronounce them.

My Overall Thoughts

Do I recommend Simply Sweet Skin? Highly!! Do I recommend this product? Yes. Do I love this product? Yes!!!

You can purchase this product here in Simply Sweet Skin’s Artfire Studio.

*I have received products from SSS for free, however this is not one of them. I did pay for this product with my own money, although I did have a coupon code for 50% off because of a little Facebook game/giveaway the owner did. I am not being paid for this review, I just really like this product. :)

Thanks for this review!I am thinking about checking her out! I was very disappointed in my last order that I made from a different company. This other company I was disappointed in because the stuff I got smelled old like it had been sitting around for months and the scents smelt very fake to me.. I like things to smell nice but not fake and full of chemicals. I will have to give simply sweet skin a look! Thanks again for the review and all your hard work! :-)
