Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette

Burning Heart Palette

If you've heard of Sugarpill, then you've heard of the Burning Heart Palette. It contains four of Sugarpill's pressed shadows. This is my (photo-heavy) review on this palette.

If you’ve heard of Sugarpill, then you’ve heard of the Burning Heart Palette. It contains four of Sugarpill’s pressed shadows.

I thought I could never wear eyeshadows that were yellow, orange, or red. However, I read tons of reviews and watched tutorial videos on YouTube, everybody loved this palette. So, I decided to buy it. (I also have the Sweet Heart Palette which will be in a separate review.)

If you’ve read my other Sugarpill reviews then you know that I always say they have the best packaging. I love a lot of indie cosmetics companies, but Sugarpill definitely has the best packaging. Their superior packaging is probably one reason why they are slightly more pricey.

The palette comes in a cute “Addicted to Pretty” box. I’ve had this palette for months and still haven’t thrown away the box, it’s just too cute. The following pictures show the front of the box and palette, as well as the backs of both.

If you buy these pressed eye shadows separately they cost $12, so it would be $48 for 4. If you buy a palette from Sugarpill it only costs $34. That’s $8.50 per color. If you buy both the Burning Heart and Sweet Heart palettes, you will have every color except for the matte black, Bulletproof. Then, you can just buy that separately. Therefore, you can get all 9 Sugarpill pressed eyeshadows for $80 versus $108.

$34 for 4 eyeshadows is still a lot (sometimes I wonder what I was thinking buying these.) If you’ve never purchased Sugarpill or any indie eyeshadows, you probably think that is outrageous, but for anyone that wants highly pigmented eyeshadows with amazing staying power, you want Sugarpill.

The palette itself feels pretty sturdy. I’ve had mine for months and haven’t had any problems with it. It has a magnetic closure and a decent sized mirror inside. The four matte colors in the Burning Heart Palette are Flamepoint (orange), Buttercupcake (yellow), Love+ (red), and Poison Plum (purple).

These colors are matte and highly pigmented!! You can use them together to make some amazing looks. The combination of these four colors, reminds me of a beautiful sunset. I also love using Sugarpill’s Dollipop (pink) with the colors in the Burning Heart palette. If you ever need inspiration on how to use this palette, just look at Sugarpill’s Facebook page. There are tons of amazing fan photos.

The following photo shows quick swatches I did of the Burning Heart palette. There was NO primer, no base, nothing used. I simply moved my fingers in a circle in each color and swiped it across my arm. The colors from left to right are Flamepoint, Buttercupacke, Love+, and Posion Plum.

Yes, these eyeshadows are THAT bright, with one little swipe of my finger. You can use something like NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk to make the colors stand out even more, or if you’re not feeling bold, you can blend them out to be a little lighter. When I don’t want these color so bright, I use Sugarpill’s Tako (white) over them.

My Personal experience with this palette…

I have worn some of my Sugarpill pressed eyeshadows on a night where I was too lazy to take off my eye makeup and they were still on in the morning. They weren’t perfect, but there were still bright colors on my eyelids!

Out of the four colors in the Burning Heart palette, Buttercupcake is my favorite. It looks great with blue, pink, orange, and even green (lemon/lime look?) Buttercupcake is such a bright, cheerful and fun golden-yellow.

Pretty much everybody raves about Sugarpill’s Burning Heart palette and I guess I’m now one of those people. Honestly, I don’t even use my Burning Heart palette often, but when I do, it’s awesome. The eyeshadows go on smooth and last long.

I never thought I’d be able to pull off these colors, but I have gotten compliments on them. You can play around with these colors, use only 2 or 3 of them, instead of all 4. You can even lighten them up by applying a little white over them. You can even mix these colors with Sugarpill’s ChromaLusts. Love+ looks amazing with Goldilux!

You can purchase the Burning Heart palette from Sugarpill, if it’s in stock. It’s popular and sells out often.
