In December, Tiffany and Elizabeth, the owners of Tick:Tock cosmetics were nice enough to contact me and ask me to review their eyeshadows and Infinity eye shadow bases. I had seen them on Facebook and heard good things about their products from other blogs, so I was super excited!

Infinity Bases

Tick:Tock offers two different eye shadow bases, a white one and a black one. Bases can really change the color of an eyeshadow, making it more vibrant and they make your eye shadow last longer.

These bases come in 5g jars, the same size as full-size eyeshadows, so they will fit in perfectly wherever you store your shadows. The white base is called Milky Way and the black is called Black Hole. All ingredients are listed on the label.

Milky Way makes colors brighter and after swatching over these bases, I found that Black Hole made the shimmers more noticeable in every color. It’s a good base for dark colors, but it can make some light colors look like a new, pretty color too.

If you’ve ever used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk than you’ll definitely like Milky Way and if you’ve used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean than you’ll like Black Hole. Why are the Infinity Bases better? They are vegan! I also like that storage is easy, they fit right in my vanity drawer with my eyeshadows.

The most important reason why I like these better is because the NYX products seem to wear off more easily. The Infinity bases are slightly thicker and don’t wipe off as easily. Eyeshadow seems to “stick” to them better. I also prefer Tick:Tock’s Milky Way over NYX white eye shadow base.

The only little con I have with the Infinity bases is they have a slight smell which I don’t love. I seriously think I’m the only one with this problem though. The bases contain castor oil, which is also in diaper rash ointment and I always hated the smell of Desitin when my son was in diapers. Don’t let my weird nose deter you though, I still use these bases and like them!

Eyeshadows

The following swatches are of all 32 original colors. They were done over the Infinity Bases, Milky Way on the left and Black Hole on the right. (Click image to view larger.) Sorry about the different backgrounds, I had to take photos whenever and wherever I could get light, since it’s a dreary winter.

My swatches don’t even do all of these colors justice. For example, Sexy Time is super shimmery and gorgeous in person.

Not sure how you’d use a black base? You can see how the different bases can really change a color especially with ones like Frozen in Time, Tempus Fugit, and Leap Year.

Overall Thoughts:

I really like the Infinity Bases and I know a lot of other people do too, so I would recommend them. Plus, they are only $4 each and I think each one will last quite awhile, so that’s a great price.

The eyeshadows are so shimmery and pretty. I tend to like lighter colors and I’d say my favorites are Alarm Clock, Salvador Dali, Eleventh Hour, Delorian, Frozen in Time, Tempus Fugit, Spring Forward, Stop…Zombie Time, Happy Hour, Leap Year, and Time Square. (I tried to pick a top 10, but ended up with 11.)

I also really LOVE the neutral colors like High Noon, Late Night Burger Gnomes, and Grandfather Clock. I did a look with them the other day and absolutely loved it. Plus, I just bought the Urban Decay Naked palette and I think I will be able to use the Tick:Tock colors with that. You could even use Hour Glass and Metronome in a fun neutral look.

*UPDATE: The colors Big Ben and Pocket Watch have been reformulated since I’ve posted this review. If you order those two colors now, they will be different than my swatches. Big Ben used to be very similar to Methusela, so they reformulated it to be more unique. Pocket Watch is no longer yellow, it is a pretty gold!*

Co. Info:

I have every color in sample baggies and I look forward to starting a collection of full-sized ones when I have money to spare! You can purchase a sample pack with all 32 colors, plus Milky Way for only $20! Individual samples are $.70 and full-size jars are only $4.95.

Tiffany and Elizabeth are both super sweet and their products are high quality for affordable prices. Check out their website and place an order!! http://ticktockcosmetics.storenvy.com/

I do have more swatch photos, close up ones, so if you’d like to see them leave comments and I will add them to this review. For now, I left them out because I didn’t want this post to be super photo heavy.

(Disclaimer: Items in this post were sent to me for free to try out and review, however all opinions expressed are honest. I am not being paid to write this review.)

That’s a good question. Some samples seemed to have more than others. That happens when it goes by weight. I’d say you can get quite a few uses out of a sample. It doesn’t look like much in the baggies but you really only need a little on a brush. I’d estimate at least 5 uses, probably even more. I buy samples from so companies! Eyeshadow samples are cheap and definitely will worth it. :)

Thanks for the review! Very informative. How many uses do you estimate getting from each sample?
