It’s that time of year where you have to start thinking about your fall wardrobe. However, it’s still warm out and who doesn’t love to wear things when they’re brand new?! That’s where transitional pieces come in handy. What’s a transitional piece? It’s an item of clothing that you can wear now in August, but that you can also wear into the fall. Think tank tops that you can wear by themselves or under suit jackets. Cardigans are also a great item to have you can wear them end of summer, fall, and into spring.

I’ve recently bought some new tops from The Limited that I absolutely love and there’s a lot of other ones that I really like. Almost every weekend The Limited has really good promotions and sales. Plus, they are always sending out coupons. If you shop in store you can get 15% off for a student/educator/military discount (show your i.d.) Shopping online is pretty easy too. People review the items and if you don’t like something you order online, you can return it in your local store.

TOPS I HAVE…

This picture doesn’t really do this shirt justice. I have it in this Cobalt Blue color and it looks really good with a pair of black pants. I just wore this on a job interview and I’ve also worn it with dressy denim shorts. This can be worn with brown or with something like the skirt pictured. This Drapeneck top comes in a variety of colors such as yellow, purple, and brown. It costs $32.90.

I love this Liquid Shine Top. It’s a pretty, shimmery gold. I didn’t NEED this top, but it’s gorgeous I had to get it! This is the perfect top for a date night or girls night out! It costs $49.90. It’s so pretty in person, the picture doesn’t show the full affect of the shimmers.

I’m totally not a taupe or red kind of girl. In fact, I own nothing red except a pair of heels because they look good with a black outfit. However, I love this Colorblock Halter. I love halter tops, and this one is mostly black. The taupe almost blends in with your skin (if you’re fair) and looks neat. Taupe & red as well as color-blocking are apparently current fashion trends. The Limited has quite a bit of items that fit into those trends. I’m surprised how much I like this trend too.  This top costs $36.90. The day I saw this last week, I bought it because oddly enough I knew I seen it before and loved it…

I was kind of right. A couple weeks ago, I was watching Pretty Little Liars and thought ‘wow I love Hanna’s top, I wonder where it’s from?’ While it’s not the exact top, it’s VERY similar to the Vena Cava top seen in the episode “Blind Dates.” I couldn’t find a great picture, but the one below will do.

So, yes the top from The Limited is kind of a rip off, but thank god they made it or I wouldn’t have it! I’m sure the one from The Limited is cheaper than the designer version too. I wore my Colorblock halter with a pair of skinny black dress pants and my red heels, it was a great outfit I should have taken a picture! A heads up, I will probably be wearing it in my next YouTube video.

TOPS I WANT…

Can you tell I like shimmery tops? This is another one. This Metallic Bateau-Neck Sweater is so pretty. It looks a little long in person, but I didn’t try it on. It looks nice on the model in the photo. This is a nice top because it’s a sweater, but it’s short sleeves. So, you can wear it now and into the fall. I love tops that you can dress up or dress down. While this is metallic, you can still wear it with a pair of dark jeans. This sweater costs $49.90.

Cardigan + Ruffles = cute! I’m totally a cardigan girl. I wear them from fall to spring. I wear them with dress pants and with jeans. They are comfortable and cute. This Filmy Cardigan costs $49.90. It comes in 4 different colors that can work all year round. The pink colors will look really cute in the spring. Not everybody likes ruffles, but these are too poofy or overpowering.

Yes, another “blingy” top. This Sequin Sparkle Cardigan is a pretty yellow. This looks so good with gray trousers or a skirt. I would even wear this cardigan with a nice pair of jeans. Since it has sequins and sparkles is does cost a little more, $54.90. If you can get this on a sale day, it’s definitely worth it. So pretty!! (Always be careful with putting cardigans in the dryer, they can shrink.)
