September 2013 Birchbox
Yes, this again. My Birchbox this month is actually pretty decent. Did you get the same samples as me?
Tuesday September 10 2013
Around this time each month, I’m slightly excited and hopeful…and usually end up slightly disappointed. My first thought this month was “I’m sick of hair products.” Then, I saw what some other subscribers received and realized my box was pretty decent.
This month’s theme was HERITAGE.
I think this little card is cute. It has a coupon code for 30% off a product on the back. I don’t think I’ve ever taken advantage of any Birchbox coupon code, but maybe I’ll give this one a go.
This is the second Amika sample I’ve received from Birchbox. This one is at least a decent size. I think I’ll get use out of this Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray. (My Birchbox card says “Blow Up Spray” which I believe is a mistake.)
I wear make-up every day so I can always use more make-up remover. I’ll definitely put this sample of Caudalie Make-up Remover Cleansing Water to good use. I also love that there is no need to rinse my face afterwards.
This Coastal Scents eyeshadow sample palette was a pleasant little surprise! How cute is this! I want a bunch of these in all different colors.
According to the packaging, there are 31 of these sample sets. The one I received is called “Queen of Hearts.”
I like the eyeshadow Fine Wine best, but they’re all pretty. I think I can even make these work with colors from my Naked Palette.
I’m excited to try out this Ruffian Nail Lacquer because they’re a New York-based company and this is their first nail lacquer collection. I love the lid on this sample. Sometimes nail polish lids are awkward and make it difficult to paint your paints.
The downside about this: I feel like Birchbox just doesn’t understand what nail polish colors I like. It’s simply really: pink, purple, red…anything bright or neon. This color is called Hedge Fund. It’s a metallic green, like a pea green with gold. Not sure I love it, but I’ll give it a try.
This Egyptian Magic All-Purpose Skin Cream is the Beauty Extra for this month.
Apparently, it’s Birchbox’s 3 year Anniversary. I received my first box when they were about 8 months young. We still have a love/hate relationship, but thanks to Birchbox I have been introduced to some companies that are now my favorites like Incoco and Laura Geller. I’m also happy that I will get use out of my samples this month.
What did you think of your September box? Comment below with what you received.

My samples were completely different. I received the Blow-out spray last month and I lovvve it. This month I did get Ruffian Nail in Fox Hunt Orange, A bottle of Serge Norman Hair Spray, a really cool lip gloss by Jouer, a packet sample of Keratherapy smoothing cream, and then a very small sample of a skin polisher by a brand called GrandCentral Beauty.
